Our Founder
Dr. Shelley Nicholson, founder of Nicholson Early Childhood Education Center, dedicated more than 30 years to advancing the field of early childhood education as a teacher, center director, teacher educator, university professor, and presenter at local and national early childhood conferences. She earned her Ph.D. in Curriculum & Instruction, specializing in Early Childhood Education, from The University of Texas at Austin.
Dr. Nicholson’s philosophy of learning through purposeful play and developmentally appropriate practice is the foundation of everything we do. Her vision and the Nicholson Process continue to guide our classrooms, shape our curriculum, and inspire our commitment to nurturing each child’s growth. Every day, we are proud to uphold her legacy by providing the same thoughtful, child-centered approach that has defined our school from the beginning.
